Is Diazepam And Codeine Lethal To Take Without Medical Supervision?

Hello! I have during the last 4 hours taken around 50-60 mg of Stesolid (diazepam) and now recently a dosis of 60mg codeine.Reading on the internet some people say this is leathal so therefore i need to ask a professional if there is any actions i should take.

Thanks there for your question, I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson. The combination of Diazepam and codeine is a potentially lethal one. It is due to the fact that both drugs cause respiratory depression and their added effects can really be dangerous. A dose of 60mg of Diazepam is really too high to take at once adding codeine to it is opening doors for already awaited complications. I will advise you go immediately to the Emergency Unit for consultation and monitoring as the effects of these drugs may be felt within minutes to hours. I also would advise you never take them anymore and if you ever have to take them, it should be under the advise of a physician who would monitor the doses. Good luck
