Is Doxycycline Advisable For A Tick Bite And Cellulitis?

I was started on doxycycline today to cover for possible lyme infection from a tick bite last week which suddenly ballooned the last two days but the bite site is surrounded by cellulitis not circles and the tick looked more like a wood tick than a deer tick. Will the doxy at least be bacteriostatic if I have group A beta-strep?Thanks, JWR MD

Yes,
These drugs have highest soft tissue penetration power. It is advisable in cellulitis.
You must also use trypsina+chymotrpsin tab as it also breaks the hyaluronic acid to reduce cellulitis.
