Is Duloxetine Effective In The Treatment Of Peripheral Neuropathy?
I m taking Gabapentin 600 mg 4x daily and trying to get something different because I seem to be gaining weight and my doctor here said it was a side effect but I do not want to go back to the pain due to CMT or peripheal neuropathy. He prescribed Duloxetine OR 30 mg every night and I was wondering if that was going to help with the pain.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Duloxetine HCL will help to relieve nerve pain from peripheral nephropathy. To maintain weight you should stay away from sweets, oily junk food & exercise regularly. You should take vitamin B12, B6 along with folic acid & minerals.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
