Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Inanimate Objects?

Dear Madam, I went to baber shop on last Monday at mornning time. They baber was shave to another one person. And they were speaking about pimples on his face, baber also speaking about the blood bleeding. After complete the shave(3 to 5 minities later) I was sitting and done the shaving with out shaving cream. They barber was using the new knife and new blade to me I had a small cut on the face, the cut was bleed little bit and stop. while the barber was shaving they keep the shaving hair on his another hand after complete the full shaving then only he clean the hand(but not using any soab and antibitic losan) , this is their working method. When he was keeping my waste hair on his hand the new blade touching his hand may be they previous person small amount blood there. They previous person is new one to our area. He do note have the family. So concern about the HIV spreading. Thanks to advise your opinion. Ravi

Hi,

There is nothing to worry if the barber used new blade kit for you. If you got a cut during shaving and the area of cut is touched by previous person's blood and you are more suspicious about his health condition, then please consult your doctor, he will test through.

PCR within 10 days or p24 antigen detection in 2 to 3 weeks or Elisa antibody detection within 6 to 8 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
