Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Open Wounds?

Hi, Last night I had HIV rapid testing done. The method was by using blood through a small prick done to my index finger. I performed oral sex (30mins after the testing was done) and my partner who is undetectable ejaculated on my hand where the punctured finger is. Was I exposed to HIV? I have Truvada which I took for the first time last night an hour after this incident. Should I go to the clinic for pep?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,
In your case there is no chance to transmit the HIV.
After 30 min prick itself go close.
You also already taken truvada.
High chance of transmission if HIV blood come in direct contact with open large wound.
Also do test of your partner.
If partner is negative, the do not think about transmission.
If your partner's report will come positive, again chance is very less.
But you should to test for HIV again if your partners is positive.
No need to go clinic.

Hope this may help you.

Take care
