Is HSP And Thyroid Related? Had Number Of Throat Infections, Developed HSP, Then Active Thyroid

Hi Is there a corolation between HSP and your thyroid? I have had a number of throat infections starting in 2009 and HSP developed in 2009. Haven t had a bad bout of HSP since but a few smaller bouts. Recently I was told after a PET scan that my thyroid was active and I need more tests. Can you give me any information regarding the 2 issues and if there is any relationship. Thanks.

Thanks for the query

HSP and thyroid abnormalities are two separate issues that you are dealing with. HSP is a immune mediated abnormality and most often involves kidneys and not thyroid. I could have helped you better if you had typed out the reports. Please get yourself treated for the thyroid illness by approaching a endocrinologist.
