Hi,
I can understand your concern with the medicine meloxicam.
Meloxicam is just another NSAID and it decreases your pain and inflammation.
So far your question is concerned,I will say that it is not contraindicated in diabetes and even in IHD but it should not be taken regularly and if you wish to take it for a longer period of time, you should get your kidney function checked every three months as with any other NSAID.
My advice - As you are a diabetic, please check your kidney function every 3 months even if a doctor has prescribed it for a longer period.
I hope,My answer is useful.
Please do not hesitate to ask a counter question if required.
Thanks,
Dr.Prabhas Verma

Hi,
I can understand your concern regarding meloxicam but you should understand that meloxicam is just another analgesic like other NSAIDS.
Meloxicam is not contraindicated in diabetes or the heart condition that you are in but long term use is not advised.
You can certainly take it ocassionally, provided your kidney function is alright.
Yo can also consult a physiotherapist for your leg pain.
I hope the answer helps you otherwise you can ask a follow up question if there is any confusion.
Thanks,
Dr.Prabhas Verma
