Is Microgynon 30 Safe To Take During Breastfeeding?

Hi, I am breastfeeding and have been given the microgynon 30 pill by my doctor, I have heard so many different views on whether it is safe to take whilst breastfeeding and really need some advice, surely my doctor would not give it to me if it was unsafe?

Thanks for asking to Healthcaremagic.In my opinion,the drug is not unsafe but may decrease the amount of milk production.If i was your physician, would have recommended alternate ways like minipill(Progesterone only containing pill),or IUCD.Hope this information helps you.Feel free to ask any further questions.Take care.
