Is Primidone 50 Mg Available In Lower Dosage?

I was diagnosed with essential tremor, the neurologist prescribed 50mg of Primidone to be taken twice daily. I took my first dosage, and it really knocked me out, all I wanted to do was sleep. Are there lower dosages available? I am a 61-year-old female, I also suffer from depression and anxiety, I take 40mg of Paxil daily.

Hi,

The lowest dose of Primidone is 100 to 125 mg orally at bedtime. In my opinion, 50 mg is a very low dose and I don't think that it might be effective. You should consult your doctor about the alternative medication.
