Is Rubella Vaccination Safe?

.Dear Doc, 1. Can you please adv me regarding rubella vaccination. My wife tested positive with Rubella IgM 400 and IgG 3 she was 6 weeks preg and consequently had to terminate her pregnancy. 2. Now does she require a rubella vaccination since her doctor says that it is not required as antibody will automatically be formed. 3. This is her 2nd preg termination.I dont want to take any chance in the third. Please guide and also kindly adv any other vaccination is required . Regards...

hi sir, welcome to HCG, i understand ur problem, rubella vaccine cant be given in pregnancy, pregnant women cannot given live vaccines like measles, mumps, rubella. because this vaccine made by dead viruses, rubella is called german measles, it will spread by person to person cough or sneeze. vaccine should be available in combination form called MMR vaccine. this vaccine is safe with mild side effects are fever, redness or swelling on the location of injection. no need to worry, hope u satisfy with my answer, thank u
