Is TSH Level Of 84 High During 5 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi...I am 5 weeks pregnant and was tested that my TSH level is 84 two days back. My doctor has prescribed pills for correcting this TSH level. I would like to know whether this high TSH level will affect the grwoing foetus and what measures should i be taking to prevent any complications. I take the hypothyroidism tablet first thing in the morning and my other folic acid and progestrone tablets after breakfast and dinner. Is this the correct way to be be followed

Thanks for asking to healthcaremagic.com.Well TSH 84 is quite high which means your body is producing less thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones are critical for development of the fetal and neonatal brain, as well as for many other aspects of pregnancy and fetal growth. You require medicine to correct it which your doc have already started ,I will advice to you to take medicine regularly ,eat proper diet little bit of daily exercise,by doing this your tsh will come to normal range .Yes you are taking medicine on right time .Hope it helps if you have any other queries feel free to ask ,I wish u a healthy pregnancy.
