Is Trokendi 50 Mg Effective For Nerve Pain ?

I recently had a ganglion removed from my wrist along with tendon excision and removal if a piece if my ulna-Carpal bone. I am having severe nerve pain with numbness and tingling. My PMD prescribed 50 mg if trokendi to be taken 1-2 hours before bedtime for pain. In all the literature I have read, it does not state the use if this med for pain. Will it help with this type of pain. Thank you.

Good evening. The pain you are experiencing is due to nerve irritation. The Trokendi tablet prescribed to you consists of topiomarate. It is not a pain killer, but it does work as a pain modulator. It helps in decreasing the sensitivity of nerves which are probably irritated after the procedure. If it doesn't work, you can try something like pregabalin or so. Hope the information was useful
