Is Viagra Advisable While On Beta Blockers/statins And Warfarin?
can i take viagra. i am haveing problems during sex . i have had a 5 graft bypass and am on beta blockers an ac inhibitor , statins and warfarin. i do not experience pain or shortness of breath or any other problems during sex it just goes soft part way through. i am 54 years old over weight although i am on a diet. i do go out cycling when ever posible.
The drug interaction isn't the problem: 1) first check with your doctor that your heart is healthy enough for sex. This would be equivalent of about 4 mets with the wife and about 7 mets if not the wife. One can go to a gym, do cycling that shows the mets and get quite a good estimate. 2) the viagra lowers blood pressure and while it does not directly interact with beta blockers it indirectly does due to both having lowering of the blood pressure. Also beta blockers prevent stress hormone action. This lowers libido, lowers exercise ability, lowers sexual function but can be helped by viagra. BUT if the blood pressure is already running low, this will be a problem with viagra being added in.
