Is Vicodin A Drug That Can Be Called In To A Pharmacy Or Needs To Be Prescribed ?

I am a social worker assisting a welfare client whom we assist with medical and prescription needs. Is Vicodin a drug that can be called in to a pharmacy or does the prescription need to be presented in person? I may be dealing with a person who is using fraudulent prescriptions and I need to know the guidelines for how this drug is prescribed.

Thank you.
