Is A 7mm Polyp A Matter Of Concern?

I JUST HAD A 7MM POLYP REMOVED..RESECETED AND RETRIVED..THE DOCOTOR SAID NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. OFCOURSE HE SENT IT TO PATHOLOGY. iM CONCERNED BECAUSE IT WAS FLAT. THAT WAS THE ONLY ONE FOUND ANND I HAVE NO FAMIY HISTORY...IM 58, AND THIS WAS MY FIRST COLOOSCOPY

A flat polyp may be referred to as sessile. Polyps are usually non cancerous so it is very unlikely that there is any significant risk that the lesion is dangerous.

Your doctor would be able to confirm or deny this after he receives the pathology report from the lab.
