Is A Foul Odor At The Surgery Site Normal?

I had a fissurectomy and sphinectomy surgery last week. I know they used some stitches and left the other wounds to drain. Now I notice a very foul odor from my wound area. Is this normal? Is it the stitches healing? I do not think it is a yeast infection because I am not itching vaginally it is more near the wound site.

Well come to HCM
Thank for asking,
I appreciate your concern, the area it self is dirty so the foul smell is likely but it is better to rule out the possibility of infection because in this area the post surgical infection is common and it could be formation of puss, foul smelling is not normal if it is persistence and it is the history of surgery is there, it is very important to take it seriously and you can talk to doctor about this, just to rule out the formation of puss, if this is so then it may needs antibiotic and it will cure the symptoms hope this information helps
