does fast heart rate mean sometimes high metabolism in anxiety

i have some anxiety and weight loss but my appetite is good.the reason i ask my heart beats reaaly fast at times when i am stressed.i started taking zolft 3 weeks ago i havent gained any weight back.

Yes, it is true that heart increases when you are anxious or under stress. This a normal FLIGHT OR FIGHT response where body releases catecholamines (adrenaline rush) in response to a challenging situation. These catecholamines causes increase in heart rate by acting on adrenergic receptors.
