General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a contusion. A the fracture must be ruled out because severe pain is a sign of an underlying fracture. Consult an orthopedic and plan for an X-ray.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
