Is A Large Black Lump On The Anus A Hemmorhoid ?

I've had what 'I think' are hemroids for about 3 weeks now. There is one large lump on my anus. It was initially black (like a huge blood blister) now it's skin colour. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere with home treatment (prep H). It occasionally has a clear liquid discharge. The other lumps I have still look like blood blisters.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

It appears to be a peri-anal abscess (abscess near the anus). A course of suitable antibiotics, local heat application (by sitting in a tub of warm water for 15 minutes daily) and a short course of anti-inflammatory drug, such as, ibuprofen will cure the abscess.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order required tests, and will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
