Is A Lump Above The Knee Post Workout A Concern?

I began walking 2 weeks ago, 5-6 days/wk. after little to no exercise for quite some time and have developed a painless lump above my right knee toward the right side where a muscle is located. It has not gone away and thus far has had no change in feel or appearance. What could this be and should I be worried?

Hi,

It can be a hematoma. We have to rule out other possibilities also. As of now consult an orthopedics and get evaluated. You might require an MRI scan if lump persists.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
