Is A Muscle & Hamstring Pretty Much Same Thing?

I did splits on slippery tile at home. Couldn t move & had to get ambulance. Hospital think it s torn muscle & hamstring. Have leg brace & crutches. X-ray s clear. But should I get MRI next week? Told l be off work at least 2wks & maybe a few weeks rehab. So I had no definitive diagnosis just what they think...so is a muscle & hamstring pretty much same thing?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got hamstring muscle injury. Its treatment is rest and analgesic . For detailed analysis you can get MRI done. Hamstring is name of a group of muscles. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
