Is A Painful Lump Behind The Ear With Headache And Nausea Post Hit On The Head A Cause For Concern?

My daughter hit her head a couple days ago, she has been complaining of a headache, nausea, and swimmy headedness. Today i went to take a closer look at her head and noticed a rather large lump behind her ear. It s not where she hit. It is painful to the touch.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Probably a hematoma. Depending on her neurological status she should probably have a CAT scan of her head. Go to the ER.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
