Is A Sore At The Back Of The Mouth That Hurts While Swallowing Due To Oral Herpes?

I have a noticeable sore in the back bottom of my mouth in my tonsil area. My girlfriend was diagnosed with oral herpes. I don t know if there is a direct connection, but it hurts to swallow, and there is noticeable sore. It has caused my gland on one side to harden and swell. The swelling is noticeable by another person. I m currently taking ibprofen.

Hi,

Oral herpes simplex may cause ulcers and lymph nodes enlargement.

Use cap. Acyclovir and Acyclovir ointment. Sores may be due to aphthous ulcers, anemia or pharyngitis or coxsackie infection etc.

Use salt water gargling and apply Mucopain gel to alleviate pain.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
