Is A Surgery Needed For The Hole In The Heart Or Does It Shrink As Age Grows?

when my son was 2 months he had a hole of 10mm in heart when he was 7 months he had a hole of 8mm when he was 2.5years he had a hole of 6mm now his age is 3.5 his weight is now 12kg did he need surgery or it will shrink itself i am from kota (rajasthan) i am very feared of surgery

hi,it depends on what hole is it,and where exactly is the hole.also important is is it causing any growth delay or any respiratory syptoms or is it causing any frequent admissions,the thing that its decreasing in size doesnt indicate of any surgical intervention required.u need to follow up with echocardiography and then take it from there on.
