Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. Two days ago I began vomiting , feeling very sick & had slight diarrhea along with stomach cramps all night after eating . Last night I just had the stomach cramps & heaved a few times without actually being sick . Today I feel fine , no vomit , very very slight aches in my belly after eating and no diarrhea. So I'm guessing I had stomach flu avd it's now gone. My question is , can I now drink beer / alcohol ? I'm meant to be going out for a works do tonight which I've already paid for !?
Hi You have just recovered from stomach flu. Alcohol irritates your digestive system. Drinking even a little makes your stomach produce more acid than usual, which can in turn cause gastritis. This may even trigger stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhoea and, can even cause bleeding.I wouls suggest you not to take alcohol for atleast 5 days. Thanks.
