Is Ankle Fusion Or Replacement Necessary For The Compound Fracture?

I am 56 years old, weight 210, 5 ft 9 inches tall. I broke my ankle when I was 18, compound fracture. HAve had two surgeries on it since. I now need to have ankle fusion or replacement. I wanted to know, at my age, after I have this surgery would I possibly qualify for total disability benefits.

first reduce your weight, need to see your x-Ray, at this age fusion would be the right thing if it is troubling you. no you can't get disability benefit. try using walker or bilateral crutches. that will / should help
