Is Any Booster Injection Needed For A Child With Dog Bite After Dose Of 5 Injections?

Hi,
My 01 yr 05 months old son was bitten by a street dog on 12th of this month - It was little harsh bite though.Little blood came and we went to doctor & he had rabipur injection. We are following the schedule for injection as below. 0 th day, 3,7,14 & 28th day.Currently we have given 1 st day injection(12th of this month). The dog has died today (14 th).What precautions you have advised. any side effect in future .
I have few queries regarding this:
1. Given that we are going to take the injection for 5 doses, is there any booster required?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this dog bite. After the 5th vaccine dose, you do not really need further booster doses. However, if you are in an area with high risk of rabies, the blood values should be measured. if they should fall below 0.5, then you may consider getting a booster dose. However, there i no real reason if you are not at thigh risk. also, this soon after your vaccination, there is no need. You may consider getting tested for possible booster doses after 2 years from last injection.
