Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had knee pain since I can remember as a child especially at night time, I remember not being able to walk, the doctor called it growing pains.. Told me to take a warm bath and some pain medication, this has never left it has always been a part of my life.. I find that it gets worse due to rain/ cold weather or if I drink soda .. It s a dull achy pain!! It s annoying my whole knee just feels overworked.. My question is what is this? Arthritis? Growing pains can t last forever! My child now has the same issues with her knees!
Hello, Thanks for your query. After going through your query I think your child is having knee pain. In my opinion these pains are likely to be due to vitamins and trace element deficiency specially that of vitamin D. I will suggest you to got following test to see cause. 1.Serum Vitamin D 2.T3,T4,TSH(Thyroid profile) Furthermore I empirically treat my such patients by:- 1.VITAMINE D3(if it is low) 2.VITAMIN B COMPLEX AND VITAMIN C 3.CALCIUM 4.ANALGESICS for pain relief. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health.Take care.
