Is Azibact A Safe Drug For Allergic Cough?

I am 35 yrs old. I have been suffering from allergic cough since childhood. When ever i was down with cough and fever was treated by different doctors with antibiotics, cough suppressants and various ways all my childhood but got diagnosed only about 18 yrs ago after which lot of times was on anti allergic medications. Then shifted to an inhaler aerocort and now on forocort and asthalin 2puffs each twice daily and a montek 4mg tablet every night. I now have another attack from the past 15 days and i have been prescribed an antibiotic azibact 500mg for 3 days , one in the morning and deflazacort tablet 6mg 2 times for 6 days. Is this a safe steroid what are my side effects and do i need to take it? Please advise.

Hi,

Deflazacort 6 mg tablet belongs to the group of medications known as corticosteroids which is used to treat various diseases and conditions such as allergic conditions, asthma, cancer, rheumatic disorder, skin disorder and eye disorders. It is a safe and effective medication if it is taken according to doctor's advice. It works by lowering your immune system's response to allergic and inflammatory conditions, thereby reducing symptoms like swelling, pain, itching and other allergic type reactions.

Side effects of Deflazacort are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, GIT upset, weight gain, delayed wound healing, vertigo, easily bruising, depressed mood, facial hair growth, increased sweating, increased glucose level in the blood, cataract, allergic reactions etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
