Hi there.
NO,your belching is unlikely due to any muscle spasm.
It seems to be related to acidity and acid reflux ....meaning that acid being formed in your stomach is being pushed backwards towards your throat.
Kindly consult a Gastroenterologist and start taking tab Esmoprazole for the time being
Good luck

Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Dr. Praveen Tayal's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Belching may cause a mild reflux and acid in throat that causes the sore throat feeling. The abdominal muscle exercises can be associated with excessive belching if done after meals.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
