Is Black Lump In Stool ,bleeding From GI Tract?

I ve been taking brintellix for about 1 1/2 months and a side effect is abnormal bleeding. Today I had a bowel movement and wiped and there was a black lump with brown stool. I ve also had stomach pain and nausea and diarrhea. Is the black lump bleeding from GI tract?

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of taking Brintelix for about one and half month and the side effect is abnormal bleeding. The black lump in the brown stool can be due to bleeding in the GI tract.
This can be confirmed by the following:
Stool test: routine, microscopy, for malena- that is for blood.
Ultrasonography.
Upper GI Endoscopy
Colonoscopy.
Test of blood including that of Bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombine time and the routine CBC and as decided by clinical evaluation.
To consult you Doctor/Psychiatrist to stop and change over to other safer medication for your problems.
To treat any specific causes found on the investigations.
