Hello,

Hand, foot, and mouth disease, or HFMD, is a contagious illness that is caused by different viruses. It is common in infants and children younger than five years old because they do not yet have immunity (protection) to the viruses that cause HFMD. However, older children and adults can also get HFMD. But until the examination of the lesions, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
