Is Bloating And Gas Problems While Taking Tetralysal Normal?
hi doctor my gp prescribed me a 3 month course of tetralysal,i have been taking one daily for around 6 days,i have noticed i have a lot more wind than usual an this is causing me problems socially,is ther anything i can do to stop this,or could i stop taking the tablets an ask my doctor for another medication, also my stomach has bloated.is this normal?
Tetralysal is an antibiotic that decreases the amount of bacteria, in your case, the amount of bacteria present on your skin (in the case of acne). It can also alter the amount of normal bacteria present in your intestines and result in increased flatulence and stomach irritability.
There are other antibiotic options that your doctor can look into for you and that may be a consideration. Another option may be to consider taking an OTC probiotic which should help restore the normal bacterial balance and hopefully reduce your symptoms. Regardless I would still at least inform your doctor regarding these side effects.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
