Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that blood in the urine can be related to different possible causes: an UTI infection, a malformation or born defect of the
urinary tract, inflammation, a trauma, a coagulation disorder, etc..
From the other hand, you should know that a red urine does not always indicate the presence of blood in the urine. It may be related to food intake.
Coming to this point, it is necessary performing further tests to investigate for the possible causes:
- a urinary tract
ultrasound to examine the anatomy of the urinary ways
- a urine analysis for the presence of blood cells
- a urine bacterial culture for possible infection
-
kidney and
liver function tests.
You should discuss with his
pediatrician on the above tests.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Wishing all the best,
Dr. Iliri
