Is Changing The Medication From Diovan To Losartan Advisable?

My insurance company wants me to switch to Losartan medication. I have been on Diovan for a number of years and I am hesitant to make this change. What is your opinion on doing this as I have no side effects with the diovan? I had problem Amlotodine and Inderal with swelling in feet and legs which I was on prior to Diovan..

Hi
Losartan and diovan (Valsartan) are same class of medications. So it wont be a problem. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which gives a swelling of legs in some. You wont get that in this.Hope this may help you.Let me know if you have any further query.
thanks
