Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
There could be several causes for poor appetite in children. For example anemia that is low hemoglobin can cause poor appetite. A simple hemoglobin level along with physical examination will help to identify this. Yes children in significant pain may have a poor appetite. There could be other causes also and only a physical examination will help to identify the cause. Some times even normal children may have poor appetite for a day or two which may be normal.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
