Is Chlamydia Transmission Possible Despite Medical Treatment?
Hi, I was diagnosed with chlamydia on may 25th, given the 4pills and had unprotected sex with a partner that was not infected, but felt swollen after. Out of fear I gave it to him, I went to out pharmacy and got each of us the 4 pill dosage again, we took that on June 11th...is it likely I did give it to him 10 days after my first treatment? And if so..can we have protected sex now, 5 days after treatment?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Chlamydial infection can transmit via sexual route during unprotected sexual encounter. Treatment for the infection is usually followed by resolution of the infection. However, serological test is required to treat the infection. Once, the serological test is non-reactive the infection can be considered as cured. A brief time is required for the test to become non-reactive or negative. Thus, best way to assess the status of infection is to get serological tests for chlamydia for yourself as well as for your partner. In case the infection is still reactive, you can get treatment for the infection. In the meanwhile you can practice protected sex.
