Is Cold Sore On Lips A Sign Of Herpes?
hi, i am 6 months pregnant and developed a cold sore on my lip which healed in 2 days after i applied aciklovir. the doctor requests that i take 3 tests - blood, urine, and sample culture from vagina, he says that only if 3 of them are negative i can go for natural labor otherwise i will have to go through ceserian... but i never had genital herpes and dont have it now, cold blisters on my lips are the only thing that i have.. pls advice

Cold sore otherwise called as Herpes Labialis and caused by Herpes simplex virus type 1. Genital Herpes, a sexually transmitted disease caused by HSV 2. Both are different. Don't get confused. Cold sore can occur to anybody and it is not a sexually transmitted disease.
