Is Colostomy The Right Method Of Treatment For Rectal Polyps?

I have had chemo and radiation for rectal cancer and it appears not to bei i n a recent pet scan but I have polyps every time they check me and have had them removed for the past 3 years every 6 months. Now they want to do a colostomy & sew up the rectal area. I am not sure this is the best way to go.
