It's not safe to drink alcohol while on Xanax.
Xanax is a short acting benzodiazepine known to cause drowsiness, lack of concentration and dizziness.
Alcohol and Xanax both depress (quieten) the nervous system.
Taking both together can actually worsen the effects of Xanax and make you feel very drowsy, lack concentration and be dizzy. It can also impair judgment making driving and manipulating machines very risky.
In view of the above I advice you to avoid alcohol as long as you take Xanax.
Hope this will help you.
Take care.
