Is Cough Drops Recommended To A 4 Year Old?

Can I give my four year old cough drops? He is about 40lbs and I am still holding off on actual cough medicine and am looking for ways to help supress his cough a little. He is coughing every 10 seconds. If it keeps up I'll take him to EC but I want to make him more comfortable till then.

Hello. I just read through your question. Its perfectly safe to give a 4 year old a cough drop as long as you are sure he won't choke. I recommend staying with him while he has it in his mouth.
