Is Cramping And Floating Bowel Movement Normal After Taking Teva-betahistine For Vertigo ?
Hi, I was given teva-betahistine 24mg yesterday to treat vertigo, I noticed the bottle says may irratate stomach. I have been taking my medication with food as directed but noticed the last two days after taking the pills I have cramping and my bowel movements float. I also noticed the water in the toilet is an orange pink colour. Is this blood? Is orange stool a common side effect of this medication? I can't find anything online.
Gastrointestinal issues like nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain are known to be very common side effects of this medicine (very common means that such symptoms appear on 1 to 10 patients). So if the symptoms are strongly associated with this medicine intake and do not appear when you do not take it, you should consult your doctor and consider medicine change to some other.
Mentioned by you symptoms can be also related to an infection or pancreas inflammation. Pink color in the stool can indicate blood, but usually it is a blood from hemorrhoids.
Hope this will help. Regards.
