Is Dark Colored Spotting Due To Antibiotics?
hello, quick question, I m on orthonovum birth control, I haven t had sex in a little over two months, I had a regular period last month, early this month I had to take antibiotics and now instead of a period I m having dark spotting. is this due to the antibiotic?

The possible causes of your spotting are:
-While using oral contraceptives sometimes menstrual irregularities like decreased menstrual flow, intermenstrual spotting, amenorrhea, etc. can be seen.
-Usually antibiotics may not interfere with the menstrual cycle or with the contraceptive pills. But the illness for which you have taken the antibiotics can interfere by altering the balance of reproductive hormones of the body.
As you have ruled out the possibility of pregnancy, you can wait and watch for a few more months and possibly your cycles may get regularized soon.
To continue the contraceptive benefit, please use the contraceptive pills as per the schedule irrespective of menstrual flow.
