Is Discoloration Around An Aspirated Ganglion Cyst Normal?

I aspirated my ganglion cyst and now it appears that some blood may have coagulated inside the cyst. Looks like a haemotoma. No real pain unless if I touch it. I had to aspirate the cyst as it had swollen up and was hurting and doing the aspiration helped relieve the pain

Question - is the discoloration I.e., blood pooling normal ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It might be due to small blood collection at the aspiration site. Generally it will settle by itself without treatment. If persists you can consult a surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
