Is Diverticulitis Causing Bleeding And Loose Stools?

19 year old daughter is having some bright red bleeding with some lose stools x 3 Bm's. C/O of a back ache and head ache. No N/V. No abd. pain. Wondering if I should take her in to have check up or should wait a day or two to see if it subsides/heals. Maybe Diverticulitis?? But she seems young for that. She is in a Karate class and has taken a few blows to the abdomen. Concerned mom but as a nurse if it just needs to heal up I hate to put her through a bunch of tests that she may not need.

Hello,

Possible intestine infection with some sort of bacteria or trauma-induced intestine problem. You can wait for further one day with dietary measures, probiotics; later it continues, must get her evaluated for the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
