Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday I had a flu shot. 4 hours later I was hit with extreme dizziness, to the point I could not crawl, profuse sweating and nausea. 12 hours later my symptoms have abated to mild dizziness. Is this reaction within the normal range for flu vacccination or was it something else? Healthy male 54 years old.
Hello, Although the most common side effects of flu shot are local redness warmth and swelling at local site but sometimes patient may have some dizziness and headache with it which gets relieved within a day. However profuse sweating is something unusual and doesn't happen with the shot.Although you feel better now,but I still feel that you should go to ER and get the cardiac clearance. Thanks
