Is Epilepsy Related To Having My Legs Buckle?

I have been diagnosed with focal) (partial ) Epilepsy and am now on the smallest dosage of Kepra and my neorologist has asked if I would like to go off the medication completely. In the past month, twice while laughing with some friends and the attention was focused on myself, I have had my legs buckle. This used to occure prior to being didagnosed and treated. Could there be some connection. It used to be that when I was around peanuts I would have a sceizure. Ever heard of either of these connection?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what you are experiencing.

Buckling legs is not part of focal seizures. seizures may have some provoking factors and maybe peanuts was the provoking factor in your case. maybe it would have been best to avoid going near peanuts and if that failed to control the seizures before you went on medications. However, it would be best too follow up with your treating doctor. If the symptoms should recur after stopping kepra, then get back to taking the drugs.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more clarification or information if need be. I wish you well.
