Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my grandson 1 year and a half hasn't been eating well for 3 days , tempeture runs 100.8 we believe that he is teething (molars both sides below, swolen. ) I notice today that he dosn't want anything solid, just liquid like ice cream, yogurt water, juice. o n the sides of tongue it looks like red bumps. also right side a little white ball. Also a little white ball inside his left lip. he loves to brush his teeth, but today he pushes the toothbrush out and kind hide his tongue. what do you thing is going on with him.
Thanks for the query. Teething per se does not cause fever. But the stress associated with teething could make your child more vulnerable to infection right before a new tooth appears which in turn may cause fever. Rest of the symptoms you described like refusal to food may be due to teething. Try giving paracetamol for 2 to 3 days and see the doctor if problem persists. Hope i helped you.
