Is Flying Safe While Having Pain In The Front Part Of My Head?

I ve had a constant headache for the past 4 days. However today it s not as bad, but whenever I stand up, bend down or anything like that I get a short but very sharp pain in the front left part of my head. What is it? I m flying on a plane on Sunday, will the ascen and descent cause it to hurt more? If so how can I prevent? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the pain may be related to sinus disease since you note that it is worse on bending over.
This is particularly likely if there is any previous history of sinus disease

The use of anti inflammatory pain killers (Eg ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen), anti histamine and decongestant combinations.
These are over the counter medications

Flying can sometimes worsen headaches due to sinus disease but if you use the medication before hand, it may be ok.

I hope this helps
