Is Gall Bladder Surgery Advisable At The Age Of 83?
Hello, I don't know what to decide. My mother is 83 years old and has been under dialysis for almost 4 years because of her kidney. Now, she has been advised to have her gall bladder removed. The last attack was in last Dec, before that, it was in 2005. Since Dec she has not had any more pain/attack. The diagnosis showed some stones in her gall bladder. If she's young and healthy, this might not be a concern, however, with my mom's age and condition, I don't know how much her body can handle the surgery and post-surgery healing...

Depending on type of stones, diet will require modification to reduce more gall stone formation. 3. Diet low in fat is advisable, to avoid increase pressure on gallbladder. Hope it helps.
